Springtime Carnivore announce tour with La Sera, play Brookline Teen Center in October

Even in the age of streaming, premieres, and 24/7 internet hyper-awareness, organic music discovery is such an awesome thing. Recently, we here at Vanyaland have hyped Take It, It’s Yours, the new covers record from Greta Morgan and Katy Goodman, who are breathing new life into some familiar rock and punk classics (listen to “Bastards of Young”, and then proceed to this mesmerizing cover of “Ever Fallen In Love”).

We’ve long been familiar with Goodman’s work in bands like Vivian Girls and La Sera (not to mention her kickball organization skills when she resided in Boston many years ago), but didn’t know too much about Morgan and her Los Angeles-based band, Springtime Carnivore. That is, unnnnnnntil we did some clicking and heard July single “Face In The Moon,” a glistening guitar-pop jam that motherfucking pole-vaulted into our Best of 2016 lists.

Someone get that track down to the Rio Olympics!

With “Face In The Moon” forever stuck in our heads, and our thirsty anticipation of Springtime Carnivore’s sophomore album Midnight Room building up feverishly — it’s out October 7 on Autumn Tone Records — Morgan and Goodman have today announced a 23-date fall North American tour.

In the middle-ish of their run is a fairly unique October 25 show at the Brookline Teen Center, which is nestled roughly in the midway point between Coolidge Corner and Brookline Village. We’ll assume it’s an all-ages show.

Peep all the dates below, but not before noting that Take It, It’s Yours is out August 26 on Polyvinyl Records and submerging yourself into one of the finest tracks of the year. Cheers, Springtime Carnivore.
