Report: Prince rushed to Illinois hospital after plane makes emergency landing

UPDATE 6:34 p.m.: A rep for Prince tells TMZ the singer has been “fighting the flu for several weeks”, and after not feeling well on the flight out of Atlanta, had his plane touch down in Moline, where he was taken to a hospital, treated, and released three hours later. He is now back home and recovering.

TMZ is reporting that Prince has been hospitalized in Illinois.

The 57-year-old music legend was rushed to a hospital around 1 a.m. this morning (Friday, April 15) after his private jet was forced to make an “unscheduled” landing at Quad City International Airport in Moline. Prince performed a show last night in Atlanta, apparently without incident.

Details of his current condition or ailment are not currently clear, and there are conflicting reports as to whether or not he’s still under care. More from TMZ:

“The singer was immediately transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital. One source tells TMZ Prince is still in the hospital and ‘not doing well,’ however another source close to the 57-year-old singer tells us he’s been released and is doing okay. The nature of the medical emergency is unclear.”
