White Hot Noise: Lowell’s PVRIS sell out Royale in 90 minutes, add second date

Earlier this week we relayed news about PVRIS‘ upcoming headlining tour, which found the Massachusetts alt-pop trio heading out on a 23-date spring North American trek to the West Coast and back. The tour included a June 10 finale at Royale in Boston — and that show sold out this morning in just 90 minutes.

Demand for tickets this morning was so strong that Bowery Boston immediately announced a second show for June 9. Tickets go on sale today at 1 p.m. local time, so don’t sleep.

It’s been a wild ride for PVRIS, who might be one of the most successful bands to ever come out of the Mill City of Lowell. The electronic rock/alt-pop trio began as a metalcore band called Operation Guillotine a few years ago but have skyrocketed to success since the release of 2014 album White Noise. They’ve dominated a full run on the 2015 Warped Tour, gigged with Fall Out Boy and AWOLNATION, sold out venues all across the United Kingdom and Europe, and even covered Tove Lo for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge series last summer.

Last month, PVRIS released a new single, “You & I” — which inspired Paramore’s Hayley Williams to declare singer Lynn Gunn a “badass” — and the emotive single leads the upcoming deluxe re-issue of White Noise.

Their headlining spring tour kicks off May 11 in Nashville. Check out all the dates below.
