Dance Fever: You Won’t are a chimp off the old block in upbeat video for ‘No Divide’

Massachusetts indie-folk duo You Won’t have been relatively quiet since they played Boston Calling Music Festival back in the fall of 2013, taking a bit of a breather to properly assemble the follow-up to 2012 debut Skeptic Goodbye. Now with new album Revolutionaries due next month, out April 29 via Extraneous Music/Meddling Kids, the quirky crew have unveiled a video for latest single “No Divide”.

It’s got pretty much everything you need to get through the remainder of the work week. Shot in Los Angeles and starring a bunch of dancing monkeys, the clip was directed by You Won’t drummer/multi-instrumentalist Raky Sastri.

“The conventions of Morris Dancing, a traditional English folk dance comprised of rhythmic unison footwork and sword-like stick play, proved an oddly appropriate vehicle to embody the song’s themes of cooperation and conflict as a literal duel — if not to the death, at least to the disco,” says Sastri. “In the end, sometimes you just gotta shut up and dance… with a monkey.”

We can only hope that this routine somehow makes it into their stage show this spring, when You Won’t head out on 17 dates that include a May 6 pitstop at the Sinclair in Cambridge. Watch “No Divide” below, and check out You Won’t full run of dates after the jump.
