Watch Them As They Go?: Here is the Foo Fighters ‘official band announcement’

A little before 1 a.m. this morning, the Foo Fighters said they had an “official band announcement tomorrow night”. They then told us to “Stay tuned”.

Everyone went mad. Fans feared the worst. Some even compared it to a loved one cryptically saying “we have to talk”.

Nearly 24 hours later — while fans around the world squirmed and breakup and “hiatus” rumors flew fast — their message is finally here, via seven-minute video that spoofs all the speculation. The clip stars Butch Vig and Nick Lachey, who sings a bit of “Everlong” as the band looks to replace a gone-solo Dave Grohl. Some of the options they consider are Phil Collins, Liam Gallagher, and Diplo.

But then there is this message that flashes at the end of the clip: “For the millionth time, we’re not breaking up. And nobody’s going fucking solo”.

Soooooo, did they just troll everyone?

Yes. Yes they did.
