Editor’s Note: The ongoing Communion residency returned to Brighton Music Hall last night with an eclectic bill stolen by local upstarts Animal Flag. The rest of the night, on a rainy Wednesday in Allston, wasn’t too shabby, either, showcasing a varied lineup of out-of-town newcomers, including Austin’s Allan Rayman, Athens’ Mothers, and Tennessee songstress LOLO.
