Saara Untracht-Oakner will always be known around these parts as the singer/guitarist of one-time indie rock hopefuls You Can Be A Wesley, which at one point held the record for most live performances at Allston venue Great Scott. While we still hold dear those fading memories, Untracht-Oakner has moved the fuck on, and in a big way. Her new band, Brooklyn guitar-rock trio BOYTOY, are set to release debut album Grackle this Friday via PaperCup Music.
Showing some Boston love, BOYTOY play O’Brien’s Pub in Allston the next night (Saturday, October 3), alongside Allstonians Beeef and Italy’s Go!Zilla. The show is the second on BOYTOY’s extensive 41-date fall tour that wraps November 18 in New Haven, Connecticut.
