ColorGrave and ORCHIDS are two of our favorite new electronic pop bands out of Boston over the past year, so it’s cool to see them collaborating today on a cover of Tears For Fears’ 1985 classic “Head Over Heels.” The track is currently available for free download via the ColorGrave Soundcloud.
“This year, one of our favorite Tears for Fears songs ‘Head Over Heels’ turned 30 years old, so we wanted to pay homage to the great synth/pop act,” ColorGrave write. “We purposely left this song ‘under-produced’ because we wanted to let the brilliant melodies and songwriting shine without drowning it with modern effects and/or instrumentation.”
ORCHIDS provide guest vocals on the track, which gives a nice preview to the sound and vibe of the project’s upcoming debut EP, Mystic, which drops October 16. Meanwhile, catch ColorGrave live at O’Brien’s Pub in Allston on October 2, a Lysten Boston party with Telelectrix and others.
