The Queen Is Read: Morrissey’s debut novel ‘List Of The Lost’ set for September release

It’s been a busy week for Morrissey: The former Smiths frontman appeared on the Late Late Show With James Corden to perform recent single “Kiss Me A Lot,” gave a revealing online interview to Larry King, and tomorrow is set to headline the second night of FYF Fest in Los Angeles.

But amidst all that, tonight brings about some rather unexpected news — Morrissey has written a novel, and it’s out very soon.

Authorized fan site True To You relays word that Morrissey’s debut novel, titled List Of The Lost, will be published next month in the United Kingdom by Penguin Books. Penguin issued the Mozzer’s Autobiography in 2013.

Here’s the note:

Morrissey’s novel

Morrissey’s first novel, List of the Lost, will be published by Penguin Books (UK) at the end of September. The book will be issued in softcover/paperback as a New Fiction title, and comes almost two years after Morrissey’s very successful Autobiography publication of October 2013.

Penguin Books will confirm an on sale date within this coming week. List of the Lost will be available in the UK, Ireland, Australia, India, New Zealand and South Africa.

For the first run, at least, it look like fans here in the States will have to secure the book via import.

More to come as details emerge. And in case you missed the Larry King interview, do some Saturday night catching up via the video below…
