Surf the UK: Listen to Menace Beach’s guitar-pop ripper ‘Super Transporterreum’

Fitting for a mid-July swing, the beach is so hot rift now. Yesterday Palma Violets dropped a new single that found the lads playing on the chilly shores of the United Kingdom, and Leeds band Menace Beach quickly followed by announcing their new EP, Super Transporterreum, out September 25 via Jumbo Records.

The fuzzed-out surf-pop title track, which you can hear below via Soundcloud, follows Menace Beach’s growing rep as one of the more harmonic rock bands in the current circuit. The song’s moniker is derived from a flu-fever hallucination guitarist/vocalist Liza Violet experienced while on tour, and the sound is an insanely catchy earworm that shakes and shimmies on a revolving pop groove buried deep within swirling guitars and early-’90s haze vocals.

Super Transporterreum is the follow-up to Menace Beach’s January LP Ratworld, and as the band head back to the studio to bang out album number two, they have a few live dates set for this summer and fall to hype the new EP. Check out the dates below.
