Promised Land: Queensrÿche drummer composing animated educational short about Boston

There’s a new educational animated series on the way that will help tell the stories of cities around the world, and it’s being composed by Queensrÿche drummer Scott Rockenfield. Storyteller Original Films has launched an IndieGoGo campaign for the project, and its pilot episode is about Boston.

Tale Of A City is hoping to raise $70,000 over the next 43 days in order to fund the pilot. Rockenfield is credited as a “film composer” of the project, and future cities are said to include New York, Seattle, Atlanta, London, Paris, San Francisco, Rome and others.

It doesn’t appear that Queensrÿche will have any other involvement in this. Operation: Mindcrime it is not.

Tale Of A City is an educational animated series that explores mysteries, challenges & growth with fascinating facts from cities around the globe,” reads the presser. “The program will be historically accurate, entertaining and rich with hilarious characters and anecdotes that appeal to all ages. We are also working in conjunction with The Los Angeles Film School’s Military Department and will be giving a percentage of our proceeds to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.”

Get more information via the IndieGoGo link, and watch a bizarre Vimeo video after the jump, which introduces us to two characters named Featherbutt and Rat. We believe they are the hosts of this series, and not some passive aggressive digs at ousted Queensrÿche frontman Geoff Tate.
