Today the Goddamn Draculas and others in the Boston community are mourning the death of 26-year-old Zachary Keene of Raynham, who was killed in last week’s train accident in Marshfield.

Services for Keene, a sound technician and member of several local bands who was described as the unofficial “sixth member” of the recent Rock and Roll Rumble winners, will be held today at the Prophett-Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home in Bridgewater. Visitation runs from 10 a.m. to noon, and the funeral and interment is this afternoon. An obituary and more information on today’s proceedings can be found here.

“The Drax have lost a very close member of our little family,” the band wrote after news of the accident broke last week. “Zachary Keene was our sound man for the past 3 years, a 6th member and a good friend. Anything we needed, he made happen. Our sincere condolences go out to all of his friends and family. We’ll miss you, Zak.”

Keene worked for Middlehouse Sound in Carver, Audio Visual Productions in Boston, and Foxborough’s Fusion 5 Nightclub and Showcase Live.

Many photos from the Rumble finals show Keene celebrating with the band.

Goddamn Draculas drummer Jerry JR Roach told Vanyaland that they are discussing a tribute to Keene’s life once they confer with his family.
