Timeless ’80s pop superstar Lionel Richie is in town tonight — well, kinda — with a show at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield (formerly called the Comcast Center, Great Woods, and other things). He’s probably soundchecking right now, so we’re not sure if he knows that Penguin Prison just dropped this fresh-as-fuck cover of his 1983 j-a-m, “All Night Long.”
Maybe we can tweet it at Nicole Richie and she can tell him. Do they still talk?
Perhaps surprisingly, Penguin Prison’s re-boot is a fairly faithful rendition, equipped with Lionel samples and some spicy dance flavor. It’s a part of a series of covers from the New York-based project of Chris Glover as we await his new record, and it’s certain to get the party going — you guessed it — all… night… long.
