Break Out: Watch Petty Morals cover the Pointer Sisters live at North Shore Pride Festival

Perhaps unexpectedly, this past spring’s Rock and Roll Rumble was filled with cover songs: Rebuilder doing “Radio Radio” by the Clash, Tigerman WOAH busting out the Misfits’ “Last Caress,” Await Rescue tearing into “Kashmir” by Led Zeppelin and eventual champs Goddamn Draculas giving us some “Fat Bottomed Girls” by Queen.

But perhaps there was no bigger crowd-pleaser than Petty Morals’ sparkling rendition of the Pointer Sisters’ 1986 funk J-A-M (all caps intended), “Neutron Dance.

This past weekend at the North Shore Pride Festival in Salem, the electronic-punk ladies busted it out once again, and you can watch the magic via YouTube below. It sounds even better outdoors in the daytime.

Also head’s up: Petty Morals are taking it to the water on August 8 for one hell of a Booze Cruise with White Dynomite and Aquanutz. Check the flyer by Nicole Anguish of Daykamp Creative after the jump.
