Subscribers to CNN’s text message service got quite a shock earlier today when the news agency cited Richard Marx as the gunmen in a deadly incident today in Georgia.
CNN quickly corrected the mistake a named the alleged gunman as Dennis Marx.
But now we all have “Right Here Waiting” stuck in our heads.
Remarkably, and maybe suspiciously, we’ll add, Marx the ’80s pop singer has a new record coming out next month called Beautiful Goodbye. Its title kinda takes on a whole new meaning after all this…
Naturally, twitter was all over it.
Richard Marx was just relevant again for about 15 minutes. pic.twitter.com/bwD6igtnve

CNN alert email corrected naming of the Atlanta shooter as Richard Marx. Wherever you go, whatever you do, make sure the names are right.

Whoopsie…Gonna be an Endless Summer Night for the CNNer who identified the Georgia shooter as Richard Marx. It's Dennis. Not a musician
