Read It And Bleep: Watch Superhumanoids’ glitched-out lyric video for ‘Come Say Hello’

Lyric videos don’t get no love. Usually designated as some holding-cell single-image piece to get a song out there before a proper video is ready, the lyric video has been an underrated weapon in pop music’s online gameplan over the past decade. Katy Perry and CeeLo have both used them brilliantly (Perry’s text message-themed “Roar” generated 75 million views), but for most bands, lyric videos are a fan creation that leaves much to be desired.

Los Angeles electro-pop trio Superhumanoids have this week added a cinematic artistry to the lyric video, and their new clip for “Come Say Hello” has raised the game. This shit doesn’t even need a “proper” video — just let this one ride.

Of course, given the ‘Noids recent video clips for “Bad Weather” and “So Strange,” we’ll probably be grateful for a new clip in a few weeks.

In the meantime, check out Griffin Frazen’s glitched-out clip below. Out this week as a double a-side with “Big Bang Below,” the slow-burner “Come Say Hello” is pretty much our new favorite jam, like a sunnier take on Cold Cave, complete with our preferred female vocals.
