We’ve been pretty hot on the trails of English electro-pop starlet Kyla La Grange ever since she showed up in day-glo body paint in the video for recent single “Cut Your Teeth.”
Now La Grange is turning on “The Knife,” her latest track that sounds a bit like the Swedish duo of the same name with a little bit of Madonna’s “La Isla Bonita” thrown in for good measure.
We can nitpick and say the song needs a bit more of a chorus — we had the same gripe over “Cut Your Teeth” — but the gentle, tropical electro-pop number is a nice introduction to the workweek.
We’ll also save our fears that La Grange is building a rep for “unfinished” songs for another day, and just let her sultry “Knife” vibes sink in.
