Exploited singer suffers heart attack live on stage in Portugal, band cancels tour

Punk’s not dead, and neither is the Exploited’s Wattie Buchan — despite having a heart attack on stage last week in Portugal. The veteran Scottish punk band has canceled the remainder of their European tour as the singer recovers.

According to the UK’s Daily Record, the 57-year-old Buchan dropped to the floor at Lisbon’s Republica Da Musica and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital.

The Exploited were on the Tour of Chaos with Hatebreed and Napalm Death. A band spokesman released a statement to the media, offering: “We are sorry to say that due to a severe illness that Wattie can’t continue with the tour. He will be in hospital for at least a week.”
