Hold On, We’re Going To The Hole: Watch Drake announce the Toronto Raptors starting lineup

I’m not sure how I was expecting to spend my Monday evening, but “watching Drake announce the Toronto Raptors starting lineup before Saturday night’s game against the Brooklyn Nets” certainly wasn’t on the agenda when I woke up this morning.

The beleaguered NBA franchise has been turning to Drake a lot lately, and this past weekend’s “Drake Night” is just the latest attempt to use the hip-hop star to draw attention to the team. There’s even word the Raptors might even change their color scheme to black and gold — and Drake was decked out in that familiar look for the duration of the game.

We’re not sure if there’s a Boston equivalent of this. Maybe getting Bobby Brown to announce the Celtics? That must have happened already.

Our minds are racing, however, by the thought of Alice Glass of Toronto’s Crystal Castles announcing the Maple Leafs’ lineup. We want to hear her scream “Kessel.”

But sticking to the hardwood, it’s only a matter of time before Drake suits up for the Raps, giving them their biggest star since Vince Carter left town a decade ago. Book it.
