UPDATE 3:47pm EST: Miley says these comments are bullshit and totally fabricated. Whew! A few media outlets, including Complex, have reached out to Love Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief Katie Grand’s publicist for comment and/or clarification. In the meantime, here is Cyrus’ response:

Aaaaaaaand we have our first real beef of the New Year. Word on the digital streets this afternoon is that our BFF Miley Cyrus has some choice words for Beyoncé in an interview in Love magazine’s March issue. No, we have never heard of Love mag either, so I guess everybody wins here — except perhaps Miley.

It takes quite the set of Wrecking Balls to take on one of the world’s most revered pop stars. And her words ring a bit hollow right after Queen Bey’s massively successful new record. And her infamous Walmart shopping spree in Tewksbury, which thank goodness Miley didn’t attend or we’d be making Twerksbury jokes all night long.

According to Hollywood Life, which posted MyCy’s comments earlier today, Beyoncé was called out for being old, a mom, and being “out for such a long time.”

Damn. Seems a bit misguided. We <3 Miley here at VL, but this comes off as a bit much. This is like watching your drunk friend at the bar go up and fight the biggest dude in the joint.

As we await BeyBey’s response (we doubt we’ll get one) let’s dig in, shall we?

“Beyoncé has been a big inspiration to me but she’s been out for such a long time. She’s so talented and I think she’s at the top of the game now but people are always looking for new blood and that’s what I bring to the game now, new blood.”

“As Beyoncé grows in motherhood and all the crap it does to your body, it will create a vacuum for fresh young faces to rise up and no one else can properly fill that void right now. I’m the only white female singer that could fill that slot right now and do it right, you know?”

“I just feel like I was born for this time right now. I’m just the total package, you know? All things must start and end and I hope to have the same success as other icons in the game when my run is over. But for now, my run is just starting.”

Yowza. Stay tuned for more…
