Vibe, maintained: Gentlemen Hall sign to Island Records, release Kendrick Lamar cover

If there’s anyone’s vibe in Boston that can’t be killed these days, it’s Gentlemen Hall. The pop sextet just wrapped up a headlining CMJ gig at Webster Hall last week, and is set to hit the road next month for 10 dates with Third Eye Blind. To celebrate, they’ve released a cover — no, not “Semi Charmed Life” — of Kendrick Lamar’s “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe.”

Shame they couldn’t coordinate this back in September, maybe G-Hall could’ve jumped on stage with Lamar during Boston Calling. They were oddly missing from all the action, after all.

In any event, the cover comes with the slow-leak news that Gentlemen Hall have signed to Island Records, with their debut LP set for release sometime early next year. We were told to keep a lid on that information, but it seems Consequence of Sound let the cat out of the bag when premiering the Lamar cover yesterday. Great news, nonetheless, and we’ll have more 411 when it becomes available (or when Seth finally answers our 3am texts, most of which begin with “bb y u mad @ me”).

Check out the “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe” cover below, as well as their 3EB tour dates. The party train hits Boston’s House of Blues on November 4. Panties out!
