Well, this is starting to get out of hand. This morning we posted news that the third and final day of the Electric Zoo Festival in New York City was cancelled after two concertgoers died and others were hospitalized in what are suspected to be drug overdoses. This came less than a week after Zedd’s second of two nights at the House of Blues in Boston was called off after one person fatally OD’d.
Now, the Boston Herald is reporting that police are investigating three potential overdoses last night during the Sound Tribe Sector 9 show at the Bank of America Pavilion in Boston. STS9 is a instrumental electronic band with home bases in both Georgia and California.
Three males in their 20s were taken to area hospitals “suffering from what appeared to be the effects of drug overdose,” police said in a statement after inquiries by the Herald.
It was unclear if the drugs involved included MDMA — or molly — a highly pure, illegal street pill form of ecstasy suspected to be behind the death of a 19-year-old student from Derry, N.H., Tuesday night at the House of Blues, as well as two other non-fatal overdoses at the concert hall that same night.
