So, check it: Budweiser invited Vanyaland to their Made in Boston party tonight at the House of Blues, featuring Rob Resnick and Cal Shapiro, a Brooklyn duo better known as Timeflies who first got into music while attending Tufts University in Somerville.
So it makes sense, then, that Timeflies are playing this Made In Boston party, Budweiser’s cross-country, 30-date build-up run that started in Tampa back in April. Tonight’s show, which is sold out or private or something, is the last of the 30 dates everything is one big fancy primer for Budweiser’s Made In America festival going down Labor Day weekend in Philadelphia and featuring Beyonce, Nine Inch Nails, Deadmau5, Phoenix, Empire of the Sun, Haim, and two dozen more.
We’ll get into all that after tonight, but first — who the hell are Timeflies? They’re billed as an electro-rap duo who are native to New York and New Jersey, so it’s clear they came here for school, where they played in Tufts funk band the Ride.
Timeflies has nearly 140,000 likes on Facebook and just announced a national tour with Chiddy Bang, which finds them returning to the House of Blues on October 9.
